Review of Educational Technology 1

The Educational Technology 1 course has truly paved way for the learner to become aware appreciative and equipped to use educational technology tools ranging from traditional to modern educational media. 

In Educational technology, the learners was also oriented towards the averting dangers of dehumanization which technology brings into societies, through ideological propaganda, pornography, financial fraud, and other exploitative use of technology. 

On the application of educational technology to instruction it showed the 4 phases of application of educational technology in teaching and learning namely;

a) setting of learning objectives
b) designing specific learning
c) evaluating the effectiveness of the learning experiences ; and
d) revising teaching learning process for improving future instructional activities.

Adding to the technology sophistication of the learners. Educational Technology 1 fittingly refined the distinction between educational Technology other concepts such as;

Instructional Technology ( which is the use of technology in instruction, different from school management.

Technology in teaching ( is the application of education in operation of education institution).

Technology integration ( is using learning technologies to introduce, supplement and extend knowledge).

Roles of technology in learning

A) Technology as tools to support knowledge construction.
B) Technology as information vehicles for exploring knowledge.
C) Technology as context to support learning by doing.
D) Technology as social medium to support learning by conversing.
E) Technology as intellectual partner to support learning to reflecting.



Educational technology have learning objectives.

1. To orient the learner of educational technology in society.
2. To lend familiarization on how educational technology can be utilized as media for teaching learning process.
3. To uplift the learner to human learning through the use of learning technology.
4. To impart skills in planning, designing, using, and evaluating the technology enriched teaching learning process.
5. To acquaint learners on basic aspects of community education.
6. To introduce the learner to what it recognized as the third revolution in education, the computer.

Taking up Educational Technology  1, we learned and become aware of the different educational technology tools, from traditional to modern educational media. As a future, knowing what type of media is appropriate to use in a certain instructional activity is our main concern. In this sense, the computer is what we could use. We realize that the computer is useful in teaching and proper integration of its capabilities in instruction is important. The basic concepts of educational technology are made clear for us that the use of technology has its downside; but utilizing and integrating it properly in the teaching learning process could be a game changer in the classroom setting.
